How We Work Together

A partnership, by design.

PULSE designs the systems that protect your margin. Your team runs them, and your licensed professionals keep the final word.

PULSE Brings

Workflows, documentation, compliance readiness, and team structure, designed and integrated with your team. Operational guidance grounded in clinical, nursing, and regulatory standards. Implementation alongside your leaders, physicians, and vendors, including your EHR vendor.

Your Practice Keeps

Clinical decisions, with your licensed providers and medical director. Legal documents, finalized by your attorney. Billing and tax decisions, with your CPA.

PULSE Advisory advises on healthcare operations, supports compliance with clinical and regulatory standards, and designs organization-wide clinical care systems with implementation support. We do not provide direct patient care, make patient-specific clinical decisions, or give legal, billing, or tax advice. Day-to-day operations remain with the practice.

Focused Advisory

Expertise, by the hour.

Strategic consultation for founders and business owners. Operational problem-solving and business systems, decision support, idea development, and an independent perspective.

One conversation. Real clarity.
CLINICAL CONSULTING

Your clinical side, systemized.
Common Questions

What practices ask first.

01How is PULSE Advisory different from a business consultant?
PULSE Advisory is RN-founded, so the clinical side and the business side are designed together. The work lives where most of the value gets lost, between the recommendation and a working front end. Workflows get written, the EHR gets configured, leaders are equipped to train their teams, and the system gets measured while it runs. The deliverable is a system in use, not a document on a shelf.
02Who does PULSE Advisory work with?
Private medical practices, concierge medicine, and medical wellness, from startup through established. The common thread is a practice built around the patient and driven by quality care, ready for the business side to carry that same standard.
03What does a custom engagement look like?
Every engagement is designed around the practice it serves. The assessment determines the design, and the work moves at a pace the floor can absorb. The Method belongs to PULSE Advisory. The system belongs in your practice.
04How are fees set?
Simply. Project work is one rate, $230 per hour, estimated phase by phase in your proposal before work begins. It starts with a small retainer covering about two weeks of estimated work, applied to your final invoice. Hours are invoiced twice monthly with an itemized log, and deliverables are released at the close of each phase. Ongoing Advisory is a monthly retainer at $220 per advisory hour. The Initial Consultation is $265, paid at booking, and the Connect Call is complimentary. No surprises, by design.
05Who do you work with inside the practice?
Leadership and the front line, both, in every engagement. Leadership holds the direction, the numbers, and the risk. The front line holds the reality of the day. A system designed from only one of those views does not survive contact with the floor. PULSE also works directly with your vendors, including your EHR vendor, to carry the design through implementation.
06Who does the work?
Leigh Ann Wilson, RN, Founder and Principal Advisor, leads and delivers every engagement. PULSE Advisory takes a selected number of clients at a time.
07How do we see what is happening?
Every engagement runs through PULSE Assembly, the secure client portal. Project updates, documents, agreements, benchmarks, payments, and communication sit in one place, visible at any time. Progress is tracked, not reported.
08What does the practice keep when the engagement closes?
The customized deliverables. A working system, documented and in use, that runs without PULSE Advisory in the room. The method, framework, assessment, and strategy remain PULSE Advisory's. Ongoing Advisory is available as the practice evolves.
09When do practices call PULSE Advisory?
When the business side never got designed with the rigor the clinical side received. When spend is outrunning return. When performance depends on specific people. When a survey is on the horizon. When the practice is ready to evolve. Five entry points. One method.
10Where does compliance fit?
Into the design, not beside it. Documentation standards, policy, and regulatory requirements are built into the workflows staff use every day, so readiness is a byproduct of normal operation. Compliance is designed into the system.
11How does PULSE handle patient information?
The work starts with your operating infrastructure: workflows, staffing, documentation standards, and how your systems are set up. None of that requires patient information. When an engagement includes EHR work, your practice grants access under a Business Associate Agreement. Template changes, testing, and evaluation happen inside your EHR, alongside your EHR vendor. Patient information never leaves your EHR.
12Where is PULSE Advisory based?
San Diego, California. San Diego practices work in person and remotely. Practices outside San Diego work remotely, with travel-based advisory arranged where the engagement calls for it.
13Do you work with individual patients?
No. PULSE Advisory works with organizations. Clinical Consulting partners with medical directors, executive directors, and clinical leadership on how the medical and nursing team delivers care across the population the practice serves. Decisions about any individual patient stay with the practice’s own licensed team. The system serves every patient.
14Do you help launch new practices?
Yes. New Practice Launch begins with the Initial Consultation, which reviews what the practice has in place today. A custom proposal follows, with clear direction, phases, and referrals through PULSE Preferred, our hand-selected, vetted network. Built to operate from day one.
15What if a system needs adjusting after implementation?
Practices evolve, and systems work best when the whole team follows them. If a system needs adjusting, the practice completes a short System Revision Assessment describing what it is seeing. Leigh Ann reviews it, holds a complimentary thirty-minute revision consultation, and sends a custom revision proposal within three business days. Every revision starts with understanding why.
